Description:

Fabrication & installation of 101 feet of custom guardrails at the Grand Stair in Seattle U’s Student Housing. Guardrail frames fabricated from 1/2 x 2 inch cold rolled, steel flat bar. The guardrails feature hexagon-perforated infill panels with hexagons filled in at random. Each 3+ foot panel’s pattern was custom, laser-cut from 16 gauge mild steel. The guardrails tops capped with white oak. We also fabricated and installed 76 1/2 feet of matching, white oak handrails mounted to the wall or guardrail. All steel cleaned, buffed, and protected with oil & wax. Oak sanded smooth & protected with a clear coat.

AE also manufactured & delivered the hickory treads & risers at the Grand Stair. The tread blocks built up with fir & plywood and clad with hickory planks and lumber. Installation by others.

173 linear feet of guardrails and 92 linear feet of handrails fabricated & installed at the building’s exterior. Guardrails fabricated from 1/2 x 2 inch steel flat bar with stainless steel cable infill. 11 horizontal cables per four foot section. All powder coated black.

Also included the fabrication & installation of three S-Benches of AE’s design in the building’s plaza. S-Benches powder coated a glossy red.
