Architectural Elements is a team of artisans that design, fabricate, and install specialized architectural & landscape related projects. Working with all metals, wood, glass, & plastics, we can custom-fabricate any manner of decorative elements and architectural details– from intricate light fixtures to multi-story staircases.

Estimating Assistant

We offer a competitive wage of $22-25 per hour  with 6 paid holidays paid time offMedical, dental, vision, and life insurance is also available, along with a company 401(k) plan.

Job Summary:

Estimating Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Estimating Department. Estimating Assistants will be expected to assist with assessing & detailing all costs for potential projects in addition to maintaining & developing positive customer relationships.

Key Position Roles:

  • Build customer & client relationships with excellent communication & customer service including site visits
  • Receive and filter incoming quote requests per internal criteria
  • Using Bluebeam software, produce accurate takeoffs
  • Clarify details as needed with customers
  • Request and compile vendor quotes for materials and services
  • Using Salesforce software, input materials and labor estimates per team review, complete with detailed, customer facing scope descriptions
  • Format and submit finished quote documents
  • Provide ongoing client support including change orders and revisions through the life of the project
  • Read & interpret bid instructions, plans/drawings, specifications & other related documentation
  • Exhibit professional demeanor while facing fast paced & often urgent project needs
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee & company data
  • Exhibit excellent document control & organization, digitally & physically

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of related professional experience 
  • Strong understanding of budgets & scheduling 
  • Excellent time management, organization & independent judgement skills 
  • Strong command of both verbal & written English
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to read, understand & interpret construction documents & plans/ drawings
  • Ability to prioritize & multitask
  • Strong computer skills 
  • Outgoing, personable, team-player
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Operating Systems & Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in our offices in Bellingham, Washington; there is no option to telecommute at this time.
