We are now hiring a full-time SHOP EXPEDITOR.

We offer a competitive hourly wage (DOE) with paid holidays & paid time off.  Medicaldental, and vision insurance is also available.

Typical hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00am to 5:00pm.  

Job Summary:

The Shop Expeditor coordinates the movement of materials and finished goods through the production process. The track shipments, movement of material, the needs of each sector, and production deadlines. They coordinate with the Production Manager, Planning, Installation, and Project Management teams to ensure production progress by keeping track of inventory, placing orders as needed, performing timely equipment maintenance, and inspecting quality.

Key Position Roles:
  • Understand project schedules and ensure that each production sector has what it needs to complete its work on time in order to stay on schedule and meet deadlines
  • Coordinate the efficient flow & lay down of materials and finished goods into and out of the production process
  • Monitor work orders to ensure production runs match work order requirements
  • Assist in setting daily work order priorities, move, stage, pack/unpack, open/seal, and gather materials, crates, boxes, parts, equipment, and other production items as needed to support efficient, timely, and orderly daily production flow
  • Receive shipments of materials, and examine deliveries to ensure accurate quantities, quality, and specifications
  • Track the movement of material, record, & maintain perpetual inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed in accordance with project demands
  • Coordinate with the Shop Foreman to expedite inventory replenishment
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Production, Planning, and Project Management teams to identify & resolve schedules where resources/materials are under or over allocated
  • Routinely check equipment & tooling and report any issues that need to be addressed
  • Assist in the routine cleaning of machines and shop areas to avoid unnecessary delays in starting production runs
  • Present continuous improvement ideas for processes as needed to ensure on-time and accurate product completion
  • Exhibit exemplary time management, organization, & independent judgement skills
 Qualifications:
  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong command of both verbal & written English
  • Acute attention to detail with the ability to prioritize & multitask
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license
  • Six-Sigma, LEAN, Continuous Improvement, 5-S, Kanban experience desirable
